Mission Studies

Description

missionstudies courses@tabor provide excellent preparation for mission and ministry in Australia and overseas.

Tabor Mission courses offer practical training in a range of missional contexts and a relevant missiological understanding for those called to a variety of cross-cultural, subcultural and multicultural ministries.

Critical thinking, the application of missiological principles to concrete situations, and an appropriate contextual approach to life and ministry in a changing world are encouraged. Emphasis is placed upon the integration of mission and ministry through shared core courses and the dynamic interaction of lecturers from both disciplines as facilitators of the integrative process.

Students are encouraged to understand their own culture, faith and worldview and those of others with a view to being transformed and becoming agents of transformation in a broken and confused world. They learn skills that will facilitate their engagement of people from other cultures and subcultures, showing respect and sensitivity based upon sound biblical and missiological principles, and appropriate contemporary missiological practices.

The Mission Studies program may be completed at bachelor or graduate diploma level.
